Southend BID uses flower power to attract visitors
Southend High Street and its adjoining streets have had a massive green makeover this week, all thanks to the Southend BID.
165 large hanging baskets full of bright, beautiful floral displays have been installed on the streetlight columns in the High Street and along Queens Road, Clarence Street, Clarence Road, Clifftown Road, Alexandra Street, London Road and Southchurch Road.
They will remain in place until the end of September.
BID Manager Alison Dewey says “The floral sculptures look absolutely fantastic and we hope they will prove to be a big draw and play their part in bringing more shoppers, local residents and visitors to come and enjoy the town centre.”
She added “They instantly make the area look more appealing and are just one of many enhancements to the streetscape provided for by Southend BID; others include waste bin repainting and Pier Hill and Victoria Circus planting projects.”
